Jesus' Name in Islam

Jesus' name in Islam is Isa. Some take issue with this and some flat out reject it. I have no issue with it because I know that the Isa mentioned in the Quran is speaking of the Jesus of the Bible. Sure, details of His life, death, resurrection and personhood are missing, but that's where I and other laborers in God's Kingdom come in. I think of it as job security. I have the privilege of being engaged in inter-faith dialogue with Arab Muslims and being able to explain to them "the way of God more perfectly" (Acts 18:26).
Think about it, Jesus' name in Islam is not just Isa. Observe:
"Behold! the angels said: "O Mary! Allah giveth thee glad tidings of a Word from Him: his name will be Christ Jesus, the son of Mary, held in honour in this world and the Hereafter and of (the company of) those nearest to Allah" S. 3:45
He is a Word from Allah, Isa, Son of Mary, the Messiah, eternally held in honor and of those nearest to God. This is a much more favorable presentation of Jesus' name in Islam than is usually presented by opponents of the name Isa. In my experience, most Muslims do not know why His birth from the womb of the Virgin Mary is significant. Most don't know the truth of the "Word became flesh and dwelt among us". Furthermore, while most Islamic scholars know and admit the many mentions of Jesus Christ in the Quran, they don't understand what the term messiah means.
As with many believers around the world, my heart beats to glorify God and allow Him to use me to lead Muslims to the Savior. If Jesus' name in Islam was even something that would remotely lead men to faith in a false savior or an imitation Christ, I would go nowhere near it.
I have actually used the Arabic word for Jesus' name that is used in the Arabic translation of the Bible, "Yesua" in discussing Christ with Muslims. Many, if not most, have never heard this name. That's ok, I suppose. When I use Isa, however, there is immediate recognition. It allows certain pre-conceived things to be in place in men's minds. Of course, I understand that there are also wrong notions regarding Jesus in men's minds, but this will be the case if I take time to explain that Yesua is the Isa of the Quran as well.
So if Jesus' name in Islam is Isa and Isa is one of those close to God (al-Muqaribeen), can this Isa help guide Muslims to God? I've asked this very question of many Muslims. After discussing Christ more fully, many of them conclude that Christ's revelation, the Injil, which we know as the Gospel, may indeed be able to help them. Yes, the Muslim view of God and the Muslim view of Jesus differ from the Christian views. We know this, however. Just stating the obvious and demanding complete acceptance of a foreign vocabulary and religious mindset doesn't move men toward Christ. Finding common ground, however, does move men closer to God.
Just as Mary's name in Islam, Miriam, refers to the same May, mother of Jesus, in the Bible, so too Isa, Jesus name in Islam, refers to the Jesus of the Bible. I encourage all to not let this become a stumbling block, but to learn what the Quran says about Jesus and to continually be about our Father's business.
Wadia Abdullah Ibn Az-Zahir is an ardent follower of Christ who travels extensively throughout the Middle East sharing the Gospel with Arab Muslims. There's much more about using the Quran and starting with Jesus' name in Islam that can help us all produce more fruit. Wadia's simple approach uses these types of Quranic bridges to Christ and is field tested and Christ honoring. http://www.islamandjesus.com.

CRUSADER Vs. CALIPHATE...Bush Doctrine: Destroy the Heretics of Islam

THE GREEN CURTAIN
From the Pillars of Hercules in the Atlantic to the Indonesia Archipelago in the Pacific, a vile and putrid Green Curtain threatens its descent to enshroud and enslave a vast swath of earth’s inhabitants. An Islamic Empire, the resurrection of the Moslem Caliphate, envelopes “with greater economic and military and political power . . . able to advance their stated agenda: to develop weapons of mass destruction . . . destroy Israel . . . intimidate Europe . . . assault the American people . . . and blackmail our government into isolation.” (Remarks by President Bush before the National Endowment for Democracy on the War on Terror, October, 2005).
“We will confront this mortal danger to all humanity . . . We will not tire, or rest . . . we will see freedom’s victory . . . we must stop them . . . we will never back down, never give in, and never accept anything less than complete victory . . . there is no peace without victory . . . we will keep our nerve and we will win that victory!
“The militants believe that controlling one country will rally the Muslim masses, enabling them to overthrow all moderate governments in the region, and establish a radical Islamic empire that spans from Spain to Indonesia . . . they are fanatical and extreme . . . utterly committed . . . As Zarqawi has vowed, ‘We will either achieve victory over the human race or we will pass to the eternal life’ . . . we must stop them before their crimes can multiply!” (Excerpts from Bush’s speech.)
THE WAR AGAINST HUMANITY
The battle lines are clearly drawn; the identity of the implacable foe utterly delineated; the sinister intentions and methodologies of this cowardly lot have been, by our President, exposed before the whole world for what they really are: THE HERETICS OF ISLAM!
Furthermore, “these extremists want to end American and Western influence in the broader Middle East, because we stand for democracy and peace, and stand in the way of their ambitions (as quoted by Osama bin Laden, Al Qaeda’s leader): ‘(We) dedicate our resources, sons and money to driving the infidels out of (our) lands . . . The whole world is watching this war and the two adversaries (viz. Western Civilization vs. Islamic Civilization) . . . It’s either victory and glory, or misery and humiliation!” (OBL).
The President likened “Radical Islam’s . . . war against humanity” (i.e., the “civilized world”) to the struggle against fanatical despots like Hitler, Stalin, and Pol Pot—branding them all as “EVIL MEN, obsessed with ambition and unburdened by conscience.”
Theirs is a “murderous ideology . . . the great challenge of our new century!” They are the killers of “Daniel Pearl, Nicholas Berg, Margaret Hassan and of Theo Van Gogh.” They justify their random killings “ . . . because I believe you are an infidel.”
They hide behind the “veneer of religious rhetoric . . . (they wish to) rule the soul itself . . . While promising a future of justice and holiness.” Indeed, the President’s religious definitions/expressions swirl throughout his entire speech: “The excuses for violence (range from) the Israeli presence on the West Bank . . . the U.S. military presence in Saudi Arabia . . . the defeat of the Taliban . . . or the CRUSADES of a thousand years ago.”
COMMUNISM’S IDEOLOGY WAS DEFEATED—SO WILL THEIRS—WITH AN “IRON FIST”
President Bush asserts that we have been at war for the past quarter of a century against this ubiquitous foe. He likens the present struggle against “Islamo-fascism, Islamic radicalism, militant Jihadism” to the “ideology of communism . . . gulags . . . the Cultural Revolution . . . and the killing fields.” The victory the West won against the by-gone “totalitarian aims” of communism, will repeat its triumph over “the rise of a deadly enemy and the unfolding of a global ideological struggle.”
Not only do those who aspire to the resuscitation of the Caliphate wish to expunge the West’s influences from the “broader Middle East,” they, according to Bush, “regard Iraq as the central front in their war against humanity.” Iraq has become—for better or worse—the “central front” in America’s War on Terror. If the “militants” persist in Iraq, they will “rally the Muslim masses . . . overthrow all moderate governments in the region . . . and establish a radical Islamic empire” (i.e., the Caliphate).
But, again, as the communists suffered defeat, even so, they who claim that Americans are “the most cowardly of God’s creatures” (i.e., Mr. Zarqawi) shall likewise “condemn themselves to isolation, decline, and collapse . . . because free peoples will own the future.” No, the US will not leave a “vacuum” in Iraq for their dastardly aims to multiply . . . they will be crushed by Operation Iraqi Freedom, Operation Enduring Freedom, OPERATION IRON FURY, OPERATION IRON FIST . . . ad nausea, ad infinitum.
OPERATION IRON FIST IS BIGGER THAN IRAQ
Alas! The US military has no end in announcing yet another operation to smash the burgeoning insurgency now, according to CNN (October 15, 2005), flush with some 200,000 militants . . . wherein some 10,000 have been slain, 30,000 imprisoned and some 300 to 400 infractions occur each week! Iron-Bullet, Fist, Force, Fury, Grip, Hammer, Justice, Promise, Resolve, Saber . . . and the list continues to grow! (List of Military Operations and Non-Military Operations) ([http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_military_missions],_operations,_and_projects#Second_Invasion_of_Iraq)
In addition to this “must win” aforementioned iron resolve—a sort of “Triumph of the Will”-style determination—epitomized by President Bush himself, those “helpers and enablers” of the would-be Caliphate, SYRIA and IRAN, shall NOT go unpunished . . .
“ . . . authoritarian regimes, allies of convenience like Syria and Iran, that share the goal of hurting American and moderate Muslim governments, and use terrorist propaganda to blame their own failures on the West and America, on the Jews . . . we’re determined (against Syrian and Iran) to deny radical groups the support and sanctuary of outlaw regimes . . . STATE-SPONSORS like Syria and Iran have a long history of collaboration with terrorists, and they DESERVE NO PATIENCE FROM THE VICTIMS OF TERROR. The United States makes no distinction between those who commit acts of terror and those who support and harbor them, BECAUSE THEY’RE EQUALLY AS GUILTY OF MURDER (Applause from audience). Any government that chooses to be an ally of terror has also chosen to be an enemy of civilization . . . and the civilized world must hold those regimes to account.”
Be it abundantly clear to the entire world: SYRIA and IRAN, the enemies of civilization, shall be “held to account” . . . they are the “enemies of civilization . . . “THEY’RE EQUALLY GUILTY OF MURDER!”
Not only is Bush determined to extinguish the spiritual aspirations of Caliphate from the OBL’s of the world, and not only will he prohibit their acquisitions of any state, but he most certainly will in accordance with his military plan and “offensive operations . . . clear out enemy forces” from those states which “collaborate with terrorists!”
Listen—first SYRIA is mentioned, then IRAN . . . is that coincidental? I think not—for it is in that precise order that “freedom” and “democracy” shall extend her grip on the region!
The “enemy” shall be denied “control of any nation!” For this very reason was the Taliban ousted from Afghanistan; and, it is for this very reason why the US co-labors with Musharraf “to oppose and isolate the militants in Pakistan.”
To achieve all the above stated goals, the noble extensions of DEMOCRACY and HOPE shall be spread across the broader Middle East.
DENYING JIHADISTS RECRUITS THROUGH DEMOCRACY
Yes, we shall “deny the militants future recruits by replacing hatred and resentment with democracy and hope across the broader Middle East . . . there’s no alternative . . . OUR FUTURE AND THE FUTURE OF THAT REGION ARE LINKED . . . America is making this stand!”
Indeed, as Condi Rice clearly enunciated American foreign policy in February of 2005 at the American University in Cairo:
“For 60 years, the United States pursued stability at the expense of democracy in the Middle East — and we achieved neither.
“Now, we are taking a different course. We are supporting the democratic aspirations of all people” (American University Cairo, Feb. 9, 2005).
No longer will Middle East despots receive a polite nod from their Western patrons; instead, they shall be vanquished from their dictatorial ways, from their absolutist and tribal monarchies—once and for all!
Yes, a “different course” – altogether different! What you are witnessing here is an all out diplomatic-military effort to radically alter the course of Middle Eastern history/culture through the aggressive propagation of “democracy”—for “Wars are not won without sacrifice -- and this war will require more sacrifice, more time, and more resolve.”
This war, according to Bush, is fought on two levels, two primary fronts: The terrestrial (earthly/military) and the psychological (ideological battle for the minds and hearts of the people). Notwithstanding the overt attempt to persuade the world that such be the case, there is another—though it be deeply embedded within the rhetoric of his doctrine discharged before the National Endowment for Democracy: The CELESTIAL!
THE SPIRITUAL CONFRONTATION OF THE AGES
“Evil men, obsessed with ambition and unburdened by conscience, must be taken very serious(ly)—and we must stop them before their crimes can multiply.” There is, most definitely, religious symbolism and tone throughout the President’s impassioned pleas for “freedom and democracy.” To conclude otherwise misses the entire significance of the speech—its raison d’ĂȘtre. To bestir, persuade, and enflame the conscience to sacrifice in defeating this global contagion—he must couch the parameters of the conflict in terms of spirituality! For . . .
“These extremists distort the idea of jihad into a call for terrorist murder against Christians and Jews and Hindus . . . Muslim scholars have already publicly condemned terrorism . . . ‘Whoever does such a thing is not a Muslim, nor a religious person’ (Chapter 5, Verse 32 of the Koran).”
Here is one who decisively marshals the resistance of his implacable foe at the very root of their strength: The Spirit! It is mandatory that he split Islam—acclaim the foundations of Mohammed are predicated upon PEACE!
Naturally, and historically, the foundations of Islam, and the emergence of the Caliphate wrought the separation of the Sunni and the Shiite sects of Islam:
“The rulership of Islam; caliph, the spiritual head and temporal ruler of the Islamic state. In principle, Islam is theocratic: when Muhammad the Prophet died, a caliph [Arab.,=successor] was chosen to rule in his place. The caliph had temporal and spiritual authority but was not permitted prophetic power; this was reserved for Muhammad. The caliph could not, therefore, exercise authority in matters of religious doctrine. The first caliph was Abu Bakr . He was succeeded by Umar , Uthman , and Ali . Sunni Muslims recognize these first four, or Rashidun (the rightly guided), caliphs. Shiites , however, recognize Ali as the first caliph. After Ali's death, Muawiya became caliph and founded the Umayyad dynasty (661-750), chiefly by force of arms. Its capital was Damascus. In 750 the Abbasid family, descended from the Prophet's uncle, led a coalition that defeated (749-50) the Umayyad family.” ([http://www.encyclopedia.com/html/c1/caliphat.asp]).
But, one thing is altogether certain—Islam’s religious tolerance, though incessantly touted as widespread and obvious—was and is hardly the case! All the rhetoric to the contrary, Islam’s toleration of Christian, Jew, Hindu, or of Buddhism/Confucius, is NOT borne out in the record. That is precisely why Bush’s appeal to “religious freedom” (and he knows exactly how this “sounds” in the West—secular and/or religious) does NOT play out in Islam:
“We're standing with dissidents and exiles against oppressive regimes, because we know that the dissidents of today will be the democratic leaders of tomorrow. We're making our case through public diplomacy, stating clearly and confidently our belief in self-determination, and the rule of law, and religious freedom, and equal rights for women, beliefs that are right and true in every land, and in every culture. (Applause.)
Does he know what he is saying? He most assuredly does! Imagine the sound of “religious freedom” and “equal rights for women” in the ear of Islam? Is he aware how this reverberates within the hearts and souls of all who aspire for the Caliphate? He certainly does.
Does such rhetoric enflame the masses of those who oppose his policies in the Middle East—though they are altruistic and even noble in their essence? Could he have left this out of his speech without compromising his persuasions for “democracy and freedom” for all Islamic peoples—especially in the Middle East? Perhaps? But I doubt—besides, he MUST galvanize the West’s opposition to the tyrannical evil who opposes them—and there is no greater appeal (certainly not the ideology of democracy) that will heighten the confrontation against another “evil empire” than the call to RELIGIOUS FREEDOM.
The very first phrase and article of our beloved Constitution enshrines it: FREEDOM OF RELIGION! Barbara Walters interview with Saudi’s King Abdullah skirted the issue of religious freedom—lest the “progressive king” (keeper of the shrines of Islam) should be unfavorably embarrassed!
Indeed ABC headlines the article regarding the civil rights of Saudi’s women, but tip-toes around the more inflammatory issue of religious freedom; instead, we read this artful insinuation into the text of the story:
“In the two months since becoming Saudi Arabia's new monarch, King Abdullah has continued to walk a diplomatic tightrope, assuring the West – particularly the United States – of his country's commitment to reform and assuring domestic religious leaders of his commitment to Islamic law and tradition.” (http://abcnews.go.com/2020/International/story?id=1207382&page=1&CMP=OTC-RSSFeeds0312)
King Abdullah knows full well that it is mandatory to placate “domestic religious leaders of his commitment to Islamic law and tradition!” And, what might that “Islamic law and tradition” dictate:
“Saudi Arabia is an Islamic monarchy without legal protection for freedom of religion, and such protection does not exist in practice. Islam is the official religion, and the law requires that all citizens be Muslims. The Government prohibits the public practice of non-Muslim religions. The Government recognizes the right of non-Muslims to worship in private; however, it does not always respect this right in practice.” (Note: This little “tidbit” of information is propagated by the US State Department:
Can the Saudis have it both ways—be an alleged ally of the US in the War on Terror (as President Bush claims they are) while prohibiting “freedom of religion?” “We're encouraging our friends in the Middle East, including Egypt and Saudi Arabia, to take the path of reform, to strengthen their own societies in the fight against terror by respecting the rights and choices of their own people.” In that very paragraph of his speech Bush touts the concept of religious freedom!
SOCIALISM & ISLAM HAVE A COMMON FOE
The world—that is, the Western World—reeled under the religious and social reverberations of the Reformation in the 1400-1500s. Few realize the profound socio-political upheavals wrought by the first manifestations wrought by religious freedom as a result of the breakup of Catholicism’s monopoly. One forgets the brutal suppression of the Peasants’ Revolt. Thomas Munzer, who experimented with a “new spiritual kingdom,” was perhaps the first in the relatively modern era to embrace communist theory and practice!
“He denounced established governments, and advocated common ownership of the means of life. After a tour in south Germany be returned to Mulhausen, overthrew the governing body of the city, and established a communistic theocracy. The Peasants’ War had already broken out in various parts of Germany; and as the peasantry around Mulhausen was imbued with Munzer’s teaching, he collected a large body of men to plunder the surrounding country. He established his camp at Frankenhausen; but on the 15th of May 1525 the peasants were dispersed by Philip, landgrave of Hesse, who captured Munzer and executed him on the 27th at Mulhausen.”
http://www.1911encyclopedia.org/M/MU/MUNZER_THOMAS.htm
From here the West waited until the French Revolution to experiment with capitalism’s alleged opposite (now taking root in America)—and a “Tale of Two Cities” could not have been told so well! Socialism’s rebirth caved to dictatorship (Napoleon) and to ultimate monarchy again.
Never totally lost in the consciousness of thinkers—communism lurched forward and Marxist Socialism/Communism became the dominant Socialist philosophy (overcoming all Christian attempts at the same—Joshua Muravchick’s article: Socialism vs. Religion, details the struggle and the final victory over theism— [http://www.taemag.com/issues/articleid.17291/article_detail.asp]).
Finally, Socialism’s paradox (National Socialism and Communist Socialism) culminated in World War II and the Cold War. Finally, the “Evil Empire” imploded. Thus, with the violent conclusion of National Socialism, and the ignoble demise of Communist-Stalinism, as well as the birth of Chinese Neo-Communism (Party-Controlled Capitalism), the world appeared restful. Alas! One last bastion of true socialism persists (aside from North Korea/Cuba): The oligarchs of the Middle East!
“Baath(ist) Socialism in Iraq, Syria, and Libya incorporate a toxic amalgam of Islam and Socialism similar to the German Nazi combination of new age neo-paganism and socialism. Islamic nations have no defined concept of separation of powers, an independent judiciary, private property, free enterprise, free speech or free press.
”Non-Islamic minorities, called ‘Dhimmis,’ are allowed to live at the whim of the state as long as they submit to second-class status and pay a yearly extortion. This way they are allowed, in most cases, to live yet another year without converting to Islam. Islamic defenders refer to this system as an example of Islamic tolerance.”
(Free Republic-- http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/565936/posts)
It is no small secret that Baathist Socialism and the Left, in general, share a common consternation towards the American New World Order System—a system wherein the rich get richer and the poor, poorer—where the “disparity of wealth” continues unabated; NOTWITHSTANDING ALL THE RHETORIC TO THE CONTRARY!
In his classic text, “Unholy Alliance: Radical Islam and the American Left,” David Horowitz provides a damning critique of America’s Left—extrapolating their connivance with radical Islam and likening it to the Hitler-Stalin Pact of the 20th Century. In other words: They will stop at no lengths to attack Babylon the Great!
I have meandered all over the socio-political map—without going into elaborate detail/references—highlighting the American Left (world Left) and Islam (seemingly poles apart), who have purposefully and/or unwittingly ascribed to the old Arab dictum: The enemy of my enemy is my friend!
What Horowitz fails to calculate is the simple fact America’s Left is not monolithic, nor is its Right (though I’m sure he gives mental ascent to this troubling thought). However, both Left and Right in Americana are loathe to outrage over the wishy-washy center—a center whose pompous protestations are adjudged by both as unworthy in galvanizing any base.
THIS CRUSADE…THIS WAR ON TERRORISM
I have presented before you a decisively religious understanding on the part of our President in his efforts to “stay the course” and rally American public opinion to his cause. Without projecting the tone and substance of this debate within the nomenclature of evangelical rhetoric—let alone ideological terminology—the American public will NOT persist in the efforts of the one who (along with America’s representatives) first announced immediately after 9/11:
“They have attacked America because we are freedom's home and defender; this crusade, this war on terrorism, is going to take a while, but we will rid the world of the evil-doers.” – President George W. Bush (September 16, 2001)
“We are coming after you. God may have mercy on you, but we won't,” Sen. John McCain (R-AZ).
“Bomb the hell out of them. If there's collateral damage, so be it. They certainly found our civilians to be expendable,” Sen. Zell Miller (D-GA).
“Deputy Secretary of Defense (Now President of the World Bank) Paul Wolfowitz says that we are going to ‘end states’ that sponsor terrorism, and our entire government puts the world on notice that everyone must ‘choose sides,’ that we no longer differentiate between terrorists and the countries they may live in, and that they are either ‘with us or against us’” (Ramzi Kysia, The Last Crusade—

GOD In The Plural Sense, IE Religious Tolerance

Now don't get excited, the title does not infer that there are a multitude of Gods in heaven. I believe in only one God most likely just as you do, and my religion tells me that my religion is the way to join with God for eternal life most likely just as yours does.
By comparing countries, religions and languages, it appears that a major cause of much of the conflict in our world can be due to placing one concept of God against another. Even within Christianity one Christian religion may look upon another Christian religion as inferior. I feel the need to give others respect as they should do to you as well. The time has come where we must do the same with our personal religious views as well. Therefore, our interpretation of God should be taken in the plural sense giving each of us the dignity and respect to practice our religion in our way without infringing on the rights of others who want to do the same, but in another way.
We come back to the basics of looking at people simply as human beings. As such, we develop commonality where religion and the concept of God are only meaningful to ourselves. This still allows us to preach our interpretation of God, but does not give us the right to infringe on the rights of others if they do not believe or want to believe as you.
Some of you are going to say that such a statement is wishful thinking. At present, maybe so. Those areas of the world where there is conflict and repression many times is due to the lack of freedom to practice religion as the people desire. Governments around the world have learned, are learning, and a few still need to learn that freedom of religion is gong to release the unrest that may have brewed for centuries in their country and held them back from being more prosperous. Repression breeds unrest.
Let's take a step back and look at the overall picture of what is going on in our world at present. Every country has over the centuries developed an ethnic race or races that is/are particular to that country. When you add the different religions within each country, you get a greater cross-section of people. Some countries even have more than one language and/or dialects. Our world is one great melting pot of a lot of different people.
If you attempt to dissect the various forms of government from country to country, you will not find one perfect system, not even the USA that for many years set a standard for other countries to emulate. The USA is perceived to be a country of freedoms that are the envy of others, but we now see many areas of abuse and lack that necessitate major changes. We all are in an evolving process that will not end during our lifetime. There are some who look on God in the singular sense in that their religious attitude toward God is the only way to salvation, and this is OK. Most of the time it does not affect others who feel the same, but have a different perspective towards God. Countries need to take a plural approach to God and follow this trend toward religious tolerance. Ease up. Give each other some space and respect on their journey to eternal life with God.
Nobody has the right to make religious demands other than to expose religious doctrine. This is an internal relationship that no one in the outside world has the right to control. Each of us needs to come to grip with our relationship to God as an individual not as a body of people in a particular religion. We don't need a world of one particular religion. The world can remain an interesting melting pot or phenomenon because of differences of race, religion, and language. This need not be the reason for conflict, killing, and rape. On the contrary, these differences are what make our world exciting for those who want to observe and experience these different ways of living.
A fundamental precept in Christianity is love. Individuals of all religions should adopt this word as a way of life. Respect and love your neighbor, and we as a world can find peace and salvation. In the section of the Bible...John Chapter 14, Verse 6. Jesus said, "I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me." Jesus Christ may become your gateway to eternal life with God, but don't you also feel that this gateway can also be open for spiritually good people of all faiths. We believe, have faith, and speculate as humans.
All of us should read the religious texts of many religions. Many religious Clerics have studied the Bible as well as their own religious text so why don't others do the same. Learn about Jesus Christ as well as the prophets of other religions. If you believe in your God, then you realize that God created ALL people. As such, we must respect what God has done and show religious tolerance to all human beings. It makes life easier when you focus on yourself, and let others do the same.
Become a good example for others. Remember that any form of force other than for self-protection does not resolve differences. Allow the concept of God in the plural sense which gives the necessary tolerance for others to do the same. There is room for all of us in heaven. How many are going to be there at judgment day? Why not you and me. Let's bond together now while there is time!

Muslim Australia: A Study In Diversity

You can learn a lot about a country based on how it deals with difference and diversity. There are three general ways in which societies deal with group differences: enforced conformity, tolerance with open arms, or a tense or grudging acceptance. As evidenced by the Russian purges of Germans or the Nazi purges of 'non-Aryans' within territories they control, examples of forced conformity are unfortunately all too common. Dominant cultures, it appears, didn't have any problems telling minority groups and subgroups that 'didn't fit' to either choose the dominant group's ways or hit the highway. As evidenced by the expulsion of Jews from Spain in the 1492, 'hitting the highway' is also fraught with peril, suffering, and pain. And Europe does not own a monopoly on this approach to cultural diversity. Chinese linguistic mapping and ethnographic studies show that the Southern and Eastern sections of China were home to a diverse group of people with many different languages and cultures. The modern Chinese culture we identify as distinctly 'Chinese' is actually just one sub-group, the Han, which came from the West and drove out most older language groups. In fact, according to research, Malaysian, Indonesian, and Polynesian language groupings can be traced to the older language groups that used to populate the Southeastern section of modern China.
Another common way societies deal with cultural and language diversity is through tense tolerance. This form of dealing with difference rarely lasts for long. Take the case of Yugoslavia. Thanks to the heavy-handed tactics and cult of personality Marshall Tito cultivated, the ancient animosities between Serbs, Croats, Slovenes, Bosnian Serbs, and Kosovars were muted. Everyone subscribed to the overarching state doctrine of 'Pan Slavs'-one Yugoslavia for all Slavs. When the Iron Curtain fell and communism went out with a bang, the tense tolerances of the Tito days gave way to outright ethnic warfare. After many ethnic rapes, massacres, and battlefield deaths, Yugoslavia lay smashed into many fragmented sub-states marked by its distinct religion or language grouping. The same could be said, to a lesser degree, of the Soviet empire, the Austro-Hungarian empire, and the Turkish empire. People are only nice to strangers, it seems, when imperial guns are pointed at them.
Thankfully, humanity has produced a third approach to multicultural differences: tolerance. Starting with the Protestant Swiss which made it the 'state religion' to tolerate other religions, the idea of erecting a political system that tolerates cultural and religious differences has spread far from their Protestant origins. The UK, Canada, the US, France, and other countries have embarked boldly in an experiment where the idea of a united country is based on law and mutual respect rather than race, 'blood,' religion, language, or some other perceived cultural unifying point. Australia is definitely in this camp. It has managed to create a multicultural society that spans many religions, cultures, and languages. In addition to welcoming Islam with open arms, its tolerance goes deeper than religion. Subsects of Islam which have periodically clashed with each other like Shia, Sunni, Druze, and other Muslim subsects, live together in peace. Historical divisions between Muslim groups that fragment along countries of origin are non-existent in Muslim Australia. While first-generation migrants might carry some of the old biases from the Old Country, most of the second generation share Australia's tolerant and pluralistic mindset. Indeed, Muslim Australia offers the world a beacon of hope amid an increasingly mobile and multicultural world.

Islamic Shops - How They Help Others Learn About Islam

Religion is a topic of discussion that can be very controversial at times, as many people have different perceptions of the same doctrines. It is particularly hard for people belonging to different religions to understand and comprehend the various things that any particular religion teaches. For each person their faith and beliefs are the only way of life and it is not easy for them to show acceptance about other religions. An Islamic shop is a useful tool that can be very useful for non Muslims to learn about many things about Islam.
A normal Islamic shop carries numerous items that are significant for Muslims including Islamic clothing items, Praying equipment and Islamic books and CD's that contain oceans of information about Islam for Muslims as well as Non Muslims. There are books about the life of Prophet Muhammad, how to lead a good Muslim life, role of a person in a society, humanitarian and societal issues. Someone keen about learning more about Islam can easily do so from these books. Typically an Islamic shop which is located in an area where the majority is non Muslim can prove to be very advantageous in promoting the religion and gaining acceptance and tolerance from people of other faiths.
As Islam promotes ethical values like fair trade and good customer service by being polite and friendly towards the entire mankind, these features when exhibited in an Islamic shop can be very beneficial for the entire Muslim community living in a non Muslim area. People learn to trust and appreciate the good values that are a key part of Islam thus realizing that the followers of the Messenger of Allah are good, kind and humble people.
The negative media exposure due to terrorism globally has destroyed the peaceful image of Islam. An Islamic shop situated in an ethnic area where it can get traffic from different religions of the world can go a long way in restoring the positive impression that people had previously. In addition, the customers walking into an Islamic shop can view the different items that are trademarked with Muslims and understand their significance in a Muslim's day to day life. Prime examples are the Islamic clothing items like abayas, hijabs and jubbas. These garments are worn by Muslims as they follow the dress codes laid out in the Quran.
These loose fitting and modest clothing items are worn in order to preserve the honour and respect of the Muslims and have been worn by Muslims from the time of the Prophet Muhammad. Today the perception that only terrorists wear such clothes can be disregarded once people learn the religious importance of these items. In fact, today an Islamic shop can act as a binding force for expat Muslims as well as a sea of information about Islam for the non Muslims. These shops make the lives of people around them much easier and convenient.
Sohail Khan works for Islamic Impressions, which started as a traditional Islamic shop specialising in retail and wholesale products for the Islamic market, now with branches in London, Birmingham, Denmark and Trinidad.

Advice to Wives on How to Improve Their Marriage Life According to Islam

Why do marriages fail?
Satan is the best destroyer of marriages and hates married couples the most. His best feast is when he manages to split a married couple. He causes doubts between them and make it seem that there is no way out of a particular situation. Satan is very much aware of peoples' weak spots, and so approaches them from these angles. People who listen to Satan's whisperings follow him instead of following Allah's commandments and live in fear and anxiety. Allah states that only one type of fear that will lead a person to the right path is the fear of Allah. The Qur'an proclaims that Allah, the Possessor of Infinite Knowledge, will give people the ability to distinguish between right and wrong if they fear Him. This is one of the most important characteristics for a person to have. Discerning people who have faith know the difference between right and wrong, and thus are not fooled by Satan's games.
Below are some suggestions to wives in light of Islam to maintain a happy married life:
Never Argue
Avoid arguments. An argument is a fire in the house. Extinguish it with a simple 'I'm sorry' even if it is not your fault. When you fight back, you are only adding wood to the fire. Below is a very good story which provides a beautiful example of tolerance and patience which is essential for any successful marriage. A man and woman had been married for more than 50 years. They shared everything. and kept no secrets from each other except that the little old woman had a shoebox in the closet that she had cautioned her husband never to open or ask her about. For all of these years, he never thought about the shoebox, but one day the little old woman got very sick and the doctor said she would not recover. In trying to sort out their affairs, the little old man took down the shoebox and took it to his wife's bedside. She agreed that it was time that he should know what was in the shoebox.
When he opened it, he found two hand made dolls and a bag of money totalling $20,000. He asked her about the contents. "When we were to be married," she said, "my grandmother told me the secret of a happy marriage was to never argue. She told me that if I ever got angry with you, I should just keep quiet and make a doll." The little old man was so moved; he had to fight back tears. Only two precious dolls were in the shoebox. She had only been angry with him two times in all those years of living and loving. He almost burst with happiness "Honey," he said, "that explains the doll, but what about all of this money? Where did it come from?" "Oh," the little old woman said, "That's the money I made from selling the dolls."
Be attentive to the comfort and well being of your husband.
A good Muslim wife should always be trustworthy and kind. She should strive to be cheerful and encouraging towards her husband and family, and keep their home free from anything haram (haram covers all aspects of harm, including bad behaviour, abuse and forbidden foods). Rasul Allah - sal Allahu alayhi wa sallam - taught us that any women who dies in a state where her husband is pleased with her, shall enter Jannah. Always treat him the way you would like to be treated. If you follow this rule, your marriage will have a much greater chance for success and if discarded then failure is just around the corner.
Be obedient
Regardless of her skills or intelligence, a wife should accept her man as the head of her household give him full respect and carry out his wishes with a clear conscience. She should take into consideration the needs and abilities of her husband and attempt to make him happy, even if she has to compromise sometimes. It is because men are given an extra degree of responsibility.
Allah says: "Men are the protectors and maintainers [qawwamun] of women, because Allah has given the one more [strength] than the other, and because they support them from their means... " (Qur'an 4:34)
The purpose of obedience in the relationship is to keep the family unit running as smoothly as possible. The man has been given the right to be obeyed because he is the leader and not because he is superior. If a leader is not obeyed, his leadership will become invalid.
Be thankful and show appreciation
Appreciate and thank your husband for what he does for the family. Never make him feel that he is not doing good enough for the family or that you are not satisfied with his work or his efforts, unless, of course, he is truly lazy and not even trying to provide for the family. The Prophet (sallallahu alaiyhi wasallam) was reported to have said: 'On the Day of Judgment, God will not look upon the woman who has been ungrateful to her husband." Thank your husband constantly for the nice things he does as this is one of the most important techniques and to be the opposite is a characteristic of the women of hellfire
Be Careful of Your Words and maintain good relation with in-laws
Be very careful what you say when you are upset. Sometimes you will say things that you would never say when you were not angry. If you are angry, wait until you calm down before continuing the conversation. Maintain good relation with your in-laws especially his mother. Do not say anything bad about his family.
Be polite kind and patient and confess your Mistakes
Treat your husband like you would treat your best friend. With our best friends we try to be polite kind and patient. With our spouses we often do not show these courtesies. Good marriages require patience kindness sacrifice love understanding forgiveness and hard work. Moreover, consider the reward in the hereafter for those who show patience:
Allah says, "Only those who are patient shall receive their reward in full without reckoning (or measure)." (Qur'an 39:10)
When you make a mistake, admit it and when your husband commits a mistake, excuse him easily and if possible, never go to sleep angry with each other.
Be contended with what you have and lead an easy life:
Don't be jealous of those who seem to be living a more luxurious life than your family. The 'rizq" is from Allah (SWT). In order to develop the quality of contentment, look at those people who have less than you, not those who have more. Thank Allah (SWT) for the many blessings in your life.
Have a sense of humour
Men seek women who are light-hearted and have a sense of humour. As Rasul Allah - sal Allahu alayhi wa sallam - told Jabir to marry someone who would make him laugh and he would make her laugh.
Pray to allah
Make dua to allah for the well being of your husband and for your successful married life. By doing this daily you will notice increased love between you and your husband.

Russia and Islam

The Protohistory (Ninth to Twelfth Centuries):
Russia's position on the eastern flank of Europe has often been compared to that of Spain on the western side. Both are seen as bulwarks of Christendom facing the hostile world of Islam, of civilization facing 'barbary'. Russia exhausted herself in a heroic struggle of several centuries, but this sacrifice was not to be in vain, for Europe was saved and could go on to develop its brilliant civilization well protected by the Russians. The price of this voluntary sacrifice was heavy, since in order to survive and finally to overcome the 'Asia barbarians', Muscovy was obliged to adopt their ways, such as tyranny, despotism, serfdom and lack of liberty. Such is the picture that is painted in nearly all Russian and Soviet historical works. Far-fetched as it is, there are deep reasons for defending this absurd concept. According to the Russians, 'they have suffered more than any other people' and have 'played the role of protectors and saviours', a kind of St George killing the Asiatic dragon and rescuing the European princess. This exclusive position 'gives the Russians certain messianic rights', in particular the right to assume the leadership over their lesser European brothers and to 'civilize' the world Asiatics.
The reality is of course far from this Manichaean approach to history. When the ancestors of the Russians first came into contact with Asia in the ninth century they were the 'Barbarians', not the highly civilized Muslims.
In the early tenth century, the borderline between 'Civilization' and 'Barbary' followed more or less exactly the frontier which today separates the Slavic 'European' people of the USSR from the area populated largely by Muslims: Middle and Lower Volga, North Caucasian mountains, Derbent, Syr Daria. However, 'Barbary' at this time was represented by the 'Europeans', ancestors of the Russians. (There are those who believe that the position has altered little over time.)
For the Muslims, the 'Rus' were wild and primitive natives, purveyors of rare blond slaves and such precious raw materials as fur and ivory. But they were dangerous neighbors and their plundering expeditions (912 and 941-4 raids in the Caspian Sea, the destruction of the Khazar Empire in 945 and 985 expedition against Bulghar) were described in gruesome detail by early Muslim chroniclers.
During 942-4 the 'Rus' devastated all Muslim Transcaucasia. Berdea, the most prosperous city of Azerbaijan, was completely destroyed and its inhabitants slaughtered. According to Ibn Hawkal, from the 1,200 5 remained. In 1850, a Russian historian, Grigor'ev, wrote"
When anarchy, fanaticism and barbarity were disputing the domination of Europe, the Khazar Empire was a center of law, order and religious tolerance, a refuge for all those who were persecuted for their belief. It was like a brilliant meteor over the dark horizon of Europe.
In the tenth century, when Russians were still mostly pagans, Islam had already penetrated Eastern Transcaucasia and Daghestan. It had conquered the whole of Turkestan south of Syr Darya and the King of Bulghar in the far north had adopted the religion of the Prophet, Except for the Bulghar Kingdom, all these territories had long been settled with highly developed urban societies going back to the second millennium BC. Even the nomadic Turks of the Caspian steppes - the Khazars - whose feudal nobility had adopted Judaism as their official religion, had attained a higher level of political and cultural development than the ancestors of the Russians, their vassals in the eighth and early ninth centuries.
During the eleventh and twelfth centuries political and cultural equilibrium was established between the sedentary Kievian Rus, Christianized and civilized by Byzantium and the nomadic Qypchaqs (Polovtsy) - heirs to the Khazars who ruled over the Steppe territories between the Dniepr and the Aral Sea.
Contrary to the commonly accepted but totally misleading version put forward by Russian historians, relations between sedentary Russians and nomadic Turks were not limited only to plundering expeditions and punitive counter-expeditions, but included wide cultural and diplomatic exchanges between partners who treated each other as equals. Moreover, during this period Turkic princesses often married Kievian princes. (It is a well known historical fact that the vassal seeks the hand of his suzerain's daughter.) This happy period ended with the Mongol invasion, but not before a considerable number of Turkic, Iranian and even Arabic words synonymous with advanced societies were borrowed and have become so thoroughly Russified as to make it nearly impossible to recognize their Asiatic origins: chugun, bulat, topor, sablia, saray, bumaga, khram, terem, yazyk, ochag, cherdak, loshad', chemodan, bogatyr, magazin, karandash, karaul, etc. In contrast, Slavic vocabulary made no impression on Turkic languages - at least until the nineteenth century.
In the eleventh and twelfth centuries, the equilibrium which existed between the sedentary Kievian civilization and the steppe nomads in the Black Sea-Caspian Sea area could be likened to an outwardly similar situation between the sedentary Irano-Turkic and nomadic Turko-Mongol worlds along the line of Syr Daria. To draw any sort of parallel would, however, be wrong. In Central Asia, Bukhara of the Samanids and Empire of the Seljuqs were the great centers of world culture at that time and the defense line on Syr Daria marked the border between civilization and Barbary. There could be no borrowing of Mongol-Turkic or Manchu words from the Qara Khitay by the Persians or the Seljuqs and a Samanid king or a Khwarezm shah would never dream of marrying the daughter of a nomad chieftain roaming the Mongolian outback.
One element only was common to both: lack of any religious problem. This stemmed from the nomads' tolerance towards religious matters and willingness to drop their ancestral Shamanism for the more enlightened Islam in Turkestan and Christianity in the West.

Understanding The Concept Of Intercultural Marriages In Islam

The fact is that Love speaks without words, especially when there is discussion about the communication of symbols. The fact is that this factor unites people from various backgrounds, countries and cultures. There are various intercultural marriages that take place in United States. Although they are backed by various ethnic differences, lack of social support and they are unable to fact the cultural identities.
The concept and tolerance and diversity is very clearly explained in Quran and hadiths. Diversity can be found in mosques and various Islamic functions. It can also be seen among various Muslims who are present in different parts of the world, and who have different cultures and backgrounds. It is quite natural to have inter-cultural marriages in various communities. But the unfortunate thing is that many people like to get married to someone who belongs to other cultures. There are many people who focus on love. However, Almighty Allah explains in various verses that he has created all mankind with different looks, colors, languages and cultures.
It is also found that the cross-cultural marriages are forbidden and very much discouraged in the Muslim households. There has always been debate about bringing various cultures together and Islam has always given special importance in bringing various diverse cultures together. The Intercultural marriages offer and add an extra dynamics in the relationships. Regardless of how the cultures meet and love one another, the desire for marrying someone comes from merging two cultures into a single one. There are various cultures that come into the mind of a person. Probably the biggest assumption that is made in the marriage is that the way how people think about it. Perhaps the biggest assumption made in the marriage is the way how the things are done in a correct manner or way.
Almighty Allah has also said in the book of Holy Quran:
"Among his signs is that he created you from dust, then suddenly you were human beings dispersing throughout the earth. And of his signs is that he created for you from yourselves mates that you may find tranquility in them and he placed between you affection and mercy. Indeed in that are signs for a people who give thought. And of his signs is the creation of the heavens and the earth and the diversity of your languages and your colors. Indeed in that are signs for those of knowledge."
There are people of different cultures and backgrounds in the world and people from different background and cultures come close and together. Although the barrier between the people of different cultures and languages still remains, however these marriages have played a vital role in removing all these barriers.
These barriers are very much condemned by the religion Islam. In the religion Islam, the only thing that comes into the path of people is their loyalty, their piety and their belief in the Oneness of Almighty Allah. In the above mentioned verse, there is a discussion about people of knowledge, people who have the ability to think and those reflect on the signs of Almighty Allah (SWT). As a result, it becomes clear that people from various cultures, ethnicity and background can get married with each other and can live their life with a new person.
The relationship is certainly formed between two families that do not have same color, language. However, the important thing to keep in mind is that they have the same origin and certainly have the faith in Almighty Allah as well. There is no doubt in the fact that all Muslims are gifted with a beautiful religion. One aspect of this institution is marriage. However, the important point to keep in mind is that marriage is perhaps the easiest thing in the books of fiqh. However, it is a very difficult and hard thing in the present society. This means just like as people and Muslim consider the Holy book of Quran in searching for the proper guidance in life. In a similar manner or way, the barriers in marriage in the Muslim society can also be removed by following the teachings of Islam and Quran.

Fundamental Christianity, Dying In The Name Of Tolerance

Left wing Christian haters have managed to take advantage of the "meekness and kindness" of Christians and those with Christians values and have broken through the defenses of the "Secular Progressive Warriors" in the name of tolerance.
Secular progressive warriors such as Bill O'Reilly, Sean Hanity, thousands of preachers, our universities, public schools, the congress of the United States and even the president are accepting some secular progressive demands for fear of being labeled bigots, racist, homophobes and the recently created term Islamophobes.
A great commentary written and posted on WND last July, "Why 'Islamophobia' is a brilliant term", by Dennis Prager, reveals the intellectual sleight of hand by coining the term "Islamophobia". He states, "Whoever coined the term "Islamophobia" was quite shrewd. Notice the intellectual sleight of hand here. The term is not "Muslim-phobia" or "anti-Muslimist," it is Islam-ophobia - fear of Islam - yet fear of Islam is in no way the same as hatred of all Muslims. One can rightly or wrongly fear Islam, or more usually, aspects of Islam, and have absolutely no bias against all Muslims, let alone be a racist.
The equation of Islamophobia with racism is particularly dishonest. Muslims come in every racial group, and Islam has nothing to do with race. Nevertheless, mainstream Western media, Islamist groups calling themselves Muslim civil liberties groups and various Western organizations repeatedly declare that Islamophobia is racism."
Consequently because of the fear of being labeled an Islamophobe, and for the sake of tolerance, on October 4, The U.S. House of Representatives voted for the first time to honor the Islamic holiday of Ramadan, commending Muslims in the U.S. and around the world for their faith. The language of the resolution sponsored by Representative Eddie Bernice Johnson (D-Texas) reads: "Recognizing the commencement of Ramadan, the Islamic holy month of fasting and spiritual renewal, and commending Muslims in the United States and throughout the world for their faith." The measure passed 376-0, with 42 members voting "Present."
On the evening of October 4, President Bush hosted a Muslim religious observance where he welcomed Muslim officials and clerics to the White House for Muslim prayer and dinner to break their daytime fast during Islam's holy month of Ramadan.
A Pentagon advisor. and national defense analyst Lt. Col. Bob Maginnis (USA-Ret.), states he is concerned that more than 100 Department of Defense (DOD) employees recently attended a Ramadan celebration at the Pentagon, in which two of the speakers had at least fringe connections to radical Islam.
Lt. Col. Bob Maginnis says he got wind of the October 1 event when he received an invitation on his DOD computer. "The person who sent it basically put the tenants of Islam [in the message] -- there are five -- and as far as I am concerned that's the same as sharing the gospel of Christ on a government email server, which of course is frowned upon and considered ethically unlawful by the federal government."
On Tuesday of last week, the House's daily prayer was delivered by a Muslim cleric.
WHILE ISLAM IS BEING EMBRACED, CHRISTIANITY IS BEING SUPPRESSED.
When was the last time you heard John Connors, Ted Kennedy or a member of the mainstream media called a Christianophobe. Yet the "Hate Crimes" bill recently introduced and passed by both houses of congress, would have made it illegal to preach in our churches against the sin of homosexuality, which would have carried a penalty of up to twenty years in prison. Thank God, our president, the last man standing, vetoed the bill.
However. Satan never rests and on September 7, the bill was reintroduced and slipped into the military defense bill by Senators Ted Kennedy (D-Massachusetts) and Gordon Smith (R-Oregon). This time the bill left it to the discretion of the judge to determine what constituted a "hate crime". Just imagine what the activist liberal judges could do with this law. It would be more powerful than the 'separation of church and state" law that is presently being used to eliminate God from our culture. What if a preacher preached on hell - twenty years of prison? What if a preacher preached against homosexuality -- twenty years of prison? What if a college student gave out Christian tracts on campus -- twenty years of prison? What if you were to approach a stranger in public inviting them to church -- twenty years of prison? According to this bill, it would up to the judge.
Tom McClusky, FRC's vice president of government affairs, says "How soon are they going to be naming churches as terrorist organizations, and using a lot of these laws to put down Christian speech and calling the Bible 'hate speech'?" he asks. "We're seeing it not just in other countries, but we're also ... seeing it today in different cities and also on college campuses [in America]."
The White House has vowed to veto the DOD bill because of the inclusion of the "hate crimes" amendment.
But what if we had a secular progressive president in office today. THEN TODAY FUNDAMENTAL CHRISTIANS WOULD BE CONDUCTING CHURCH SERVICES IN THEIR BASEMENTS. That's how close we are. ONE PERSON.
Charles Finney, a famous Freewill Baptist Preacher (1792 - 1875) stated -- Politics are part of a religion in such a country as this and Christians must do their duty to the country as a part of their duty to God. It seems sometimes as if the foundations of the nation are becoming rotten, and Christians seem to act as if they think God does not see what they do in politics. But I tell you He does see it, and He will bless or curse this nation, according to the course they (Christians) take.
This applies today more than it ever has since the beginning of America, which was founded on Christian values.
Our pastors must quit hiding behind their podiums and assume the leadership responsibility of strengthening the family, prompting civic activism and affecting public policy outcomes. Pastors who do not back down from addressing cultural issues that affects the church and our religious freedoms. Where culture is breaking down, pastors must stand in the gap. If they don't, who will?
HERE IS THE JUDGMENT GOD PROMISES TO PREACHERS THAT DON'T STAND UP.
Hosea 4:6 - "My people are destroyed from lack of knowledge.
"Because you have rejected knowledge,
I also reject you as my priests;
because you have ignored the law of your God,
I also will ignore your children."
HERE IS THE JUDGMENT GOD PROMISES TO CHRISTIANS THAT DON'T STAND UP.
Hosea 8:4 "--They set up kings without my consent;
they choose princes without my approval. ; (You voted ungodly people to lead your nation)
With their silver and gold
they make idols for themselves (you put your money ahead of your morals),
to their own destruction. (because of it you bring about your own destruction)
HERE IS THE JUDGMENT GOD PROMISES TO GOVERNMENT OFFICIALS THAT DON'T STAND UP
Hosea 5:1 ". . . Listen, O royal house! (Government officials)
This judgment is against you:
You have been a snare at Mizpah,
a net spread out on Tabor. (Ancient Holy sanctuaries)
It is critical that all Christians understand the significance of their role in politics and civil affairs. YOU MUST VOTE for Christian leaders in the next election at the very least. Better still get involved by campaigning, donating money and educating other Christians and encouraging them to participate.
If the Democrats continue to control both the House and Senate, and are successful at putting the next president into the White House, we can be reasonably assured that within a few years, Fundamental Christians will be forced to conduct church in their basements. The rest will simply become buildings hosting Sunday morning fashion shows and tea parties.

Just Take a Little Eyes on Religion (ISLAM)

Pillars Of Islam
Islamic society is a society based on the principles of Islam. It has a stamp of teachings of the Quran and Sunnah. The thought and actions as well as beliefs and customs of its individuals are in accordance with Islamic principles. All rules and regulations of this society are framed in the light of the teachings of Islam and its individuals lead their lives in conformity with the Islamic code of conduct. Hazrat Muhammad (P.B.U.H) founded the Islamic society in Madina. This primitive Islamic society set examples of respect for humanity, coexistence, fraternity, equality and tolerance. When Islam spread to other countries the Islamic society was broadened. Wherever Muslims went they displayed social values of a high order and as a result Islamic society was distinguished from other societies. There are the five basic Pillars of Islam.
1 - Kalima
2 - Namaz
3 - Roza
4 - Zakat
5 - Hajj
Kalima
"La ILaha ILAllaho Muhammad Dur Rasool Lul Allah" that is "None has the right to be worshiped but Allah, and Muhammad (P.B.U.H) is the Messenger of Allah". It is called a Kalima of Muslims. No one has the right to be worshiped but Allah means Allah is one. To belief on Oneness of Allah (God) is the first and fundamental principle of Islam. It means that the creator and sovereign of this universe is Allah. He has no rival. He is the creator of all objects and He is not dependent on any one. Every Muslim must acknowledge the Oneness of Allah and His supreme sovereignty and must follow His orders.
When a Muslim accepts the Oneness of Allah (God) and believes Him to be the creator and the Master of universe, he is bound to lead his life within the limits and principles prescribed by Allah and worship Him only. It also means that in the eyes of a Muslim all human beings are equal and there is no distinction based on race or colour. The dictates of Allah have been imposed on all human beings. The richer or the poor, all are equal before law. A virtuous and pious man has precedence over others before Allah.
Oneness of Allah (God) also means that only Allah is fit to be worshipped and all Muslims should observe the prayers and instructions prescribed for them.
Secondly, A Muslim must believe on the teachings of Hazrat Muhammad (P.B.U.H). He is the last prophet of Allah with last religion known as Islam. Every Muslim must follow his teachings called Sunnah.
Seven Important Things
There are the 7 things on which a Muslim must believe.
1 - Believe on Allah

Steps To Make Namaz (Prayer) Better
Requisites of good Namaz suggested by Sufis are Twelve. The Sufis Islamic Scholars) write " There are twelve thousand blessings in Namaz, which can be achieved through twelve principles. These steps are as follow.
1 - Knowledge: Our Nabi Hazrat Muhammad (P.B.U.H) has said that an action performed without knowledge is far inferior the one done with full knowledge about it. We should therefore know: (a) which of the Islamic practices are obligatory and which are Sunnah (done by Hazrat Muhammad (P.B.U.H)). (b) what is obligatory and what is sunnah in wazu (a method that involves washing different parts of our body) and Namaz. (c) how does Shaytan (enemy of God) cause disturbance in the proper observance of Namaz.
2 - Wazu: we must try to: (a) Clean our heart of jealousy and revenge, just as we wash other parts of our body. (b) Keep ourselves clean of sins. (c) Be neither wasteful nor miserly in the use of water.
3 - Dress: It should be: (a) Got through honest earning. (b) Clean. (c) According to Sunnah, e.g. the ankles should not be covered. (d) Simple, and should not display vanity or pride and self importance.
4 - Time: We should be: (a) Able to tell correct time at any moment. (b) Always watchful about Azan (Calling by man from Mosque for prayer). (c) Particular about the time of Namaz, lest we should be too late for it.
5 - Facing the Direction of Kabba: There are three things to be ensured in facing the direction of Kabba (Situated at Makkah, Saudi Arabia): (a) we must face the direction of Kabba physically. (b) Have the heart in union with Allah (God), for He is the direction of the Kabba of the Heart. (c) Be as attentive as a slave is before his Master.
6 - Intention: For this we need to be particular about three things: (a) We must be definite as to what Namaz we are offering. (b) Remain constantly conscious of our presence before Allah (god) Who sees us. (c) Have perfect faith that Allah (God) knows all that is in our hearts.
7 - The first Allah u Akbar by which one starts Namaz: The essential of the first Allah u Akbar by which one starts Namaz are: (a) To pronounce the words correctly. (b) To raise both hands up to the ears. This signifies that we have cut off our connection with all, except Allah (God). (c) To feel the Greatness of Allah (God) in our heart when we say Allah u Akbar.
8 - Qiyam (Standing and reciting the Quran in Namaz): While in Qayam we should: (a) Keep our gaze at the place of sajda (Particular place in ground where we put our forehead). (b) Feel in our heart that we are standing before Allah (God). (c) Not attend to anything else. Looking here and there is like a person who after reaching the presence of a king, then starts to look right and left when the king is attending to him.
9 - Recitation of the Quran: The essential of reciting the Quran are: (a) To recite the Quran with correct pronunciation. (b) To ponder on the meanings of what we recite. (c) To bind ourselves to obey what we recite.
10 - Ruku: The essential of ruku are: (a) To keep the back quite straight i.e. the whole body above the legs should be in one horizontal line. (b) To hold the knees firmly with fingers spread apart. (c) To recite subhana rabbiyal- azim with dignity and keep in mind the greatness of Allah (God).
11 - Sajda: The essential of Sajda are: (a) To place the hands flat and close to the ears. (b) To keep the elbows raised above the ground. (c) To recite Subhana rabbiyal ala with devotion.
12 - Qadah (sitting between the two sajdas): The essential of qadah are: (a) To sit upon the left foot, keeping the right one vertical. (b) To recite tashahhud with devotion, keeping the meaning in mind, for it contains greetings for the Hazrat Muhammad (P.B.U.H) and dua (pray) for the Muslim brethren. (c) To make intention for salam to the angels as well as the people on the right and on the left.
As sincerity is the essence of all these points, which requires us: 1. To offer Namaz with the sole purpose of pleasing Allah (God). 2. To understand that is only through the favour of Allah (God) that we are able to offer Namaz. 3. To hope for the reward promised by Allah (God).
