One has to pay for everything for any services from a pastor be it prayers, counseling etc. This is not the same as it was before because people only used to go to church, give your tithe and offerings and you are good to go.
The prophets fleece innocent believers in the name of special prayers which do not work and by the time they realize these are false prophets, they have already been conned. Although it is not easy to differentiate between a true and false prophet, some are outright liars. They use the bible to their advantage and to enrich themselves.
Being a staunch and firm believer can really help people differentiate between a true pastor and a false one. A true pastor cannot put a price tag on tithe and offerings because for offerings one gives only what they can afford and for the tithe it should be as it is stated in the holy book which the true pastors should translate for their followers.
