Will The Antichrist Be A Muslim? An Insight

By Annabelle Holman

From the traditional viewpoint the fake messiah has been believed to be a European. Claims have also been emerging of the future false messiah being Islamic. Arguments and discussions have always been brought forth among various religious platforms concerning the coming of a future Antichrist. Will the Antichrist be a Muslim? We discuss these claims with pieces of evidence brought forth by teachings from both Islam and Christianity on the end times

A sub-section of Islamic community, the Shiite who are mainly located in Iraq, believes that twelve imams arose after the Imam. Imams are the spiritual leaders of Islamic communities who are also referred to as Prophets. Muhammad Al Mahdi was the twelfth Imam, was born 868 entered into a cave at the age 6 years while hiding from persecution and is believed to emerge back a time before the foretold judgment day.

Some section of Christian topologists, they bring forth the argument that he will be Islam. They claim that that according to prophet Micah in the bible, his end time prophecy the Assyrian invaded the land of Israel referring to the Assyrian as the Antichrist. The argument further claims that according to the book of Revelation the false messiah is described as being Leopard like with the feet of a bear and the mouth of lion, where according to Daniel the Medo-Persian Empire is depicted as a Leopard.

Further discussions indicate that prophet Daniel foretells about a ram defeated by a goat, in his prophecy concerning empires. The goat was characteristic with a horn that was placed in between the eyes which denoted the Medo-Persian Empire. Scholars across the board are in agreement the horn referred to the Antiochus Epiphanes that was in power from the Alexander Empire. In Prophet Daniel foresights he states that the autocrat is the Antichrist.

But despite all these discussions, there are suggestions of Antichrist not being Islamic is and one of the positive relationships between Israel and the Anti-Christ. Prophet Daniel foretells the false messiah will confirm a peace agreement with Israel for seven years. They also argue that Daniel prophesies the reconstruction of a Temple by the Antichrist. Based on the hostility that has been existent between the Christians and the Islamic community the fake messiah can not be Muslim.

Some scholars further claim that he is not going to be a Muslim due to Geographic locality. According to the bible the anticipated Antichrist is going to emerge from the new Roman Empire, which will be in the countries where the former Roman Empire was located. Sections of Europe and some parts of Africa made part of the Roman Empire yet Europeans have led the Empire and not Muslims.

Additional evidence indicates that the Assyrian nation mentioned in the book of Micah was not referring to the Antichrist. The Assyrian nation that was mentioned in the book of Micah was Israel enemy nation at the moment and that God had promised to protect Israel from all enemies both within and out of Israel.

The Assyrians being predominantly Christians further disagrees with the notion of him being Muslim. Most of Assyrians are located in Syria, Iraq and Turkey. Despite the fact that they are located in Islamic nations the Assyrians are over 90 per cent Christians further countering claiming that an Assyrian Antichrist would be an Islam.
