How To Make Your Wedding Reception Fun

By Nancy Gardner

Everybody wants a memorable wedding. After the emotional exchanging of vows and after the ceremony, it is time to get started, drinks, food, games and dancing. Since it is your big day, make sure that you and the guests are having so much fun in your wedding.

A tedious wedding is not what every couple wants. Of course, you want to make it memorable, by not spending too much cost, but to make everyone happy and entertained. Today, there are couples who want to concentrate on new things which can incorporate entertainment to their wedding reception like playing games.

A typical entrance to the reception area is no longer used today. Couples always make sure that once they enter to the venue, everyone enjoys as a good start of a happy life. Thus, in this matter, why not incorporate dancing to make the celebration more fun. While the secondary entourage enters, they will dance and jive to whatever music will be played. The funny part is that, not all can dance and others are just trying hard to move their bodies.

When it is the turn of the married couple, you can also surprise your guests with a dance or a song number. The surprising part here is that, not everyone knows that you are going to perform on your wedding day especially if it is also their first time to hear you sing or see you dance on the dance floor.

The typical way of tossing the garter is no longer fun and sometimes a boring one. To make it more fun, think on a game that would make everyone smile. You can use the shoe game. Single men are requested to come in front and asked to removed their right shoe and put it on the box. The couple will choose a shoe blind folded so they can't see the shoe. The owner of the shoe that the couple grabbed wins.

As of the bride's bouquet, you can make it enjoyable if incorporated with a game. This game is called get my banana. Single ladies are gathered in front. However, the relatives of the person who got the garter are excluded for this game. That person will then sit on a chair and hands on his back while a ripe banana is placed between the legs.

A song will be played and single ladies will jive to the music. It is better to dance to add some excitement. When the music stops, all ladies have the chance to grab the banana. The lady who first grab the banana will now be excepted and be back on her seat. The remaining ladies will continue the game until the last lady who cannot grab the banana wins the bouquet.

Both partners will then play another excitement game. They will mimic what the married couple do. For example, if the groom kissed his wife on her lips, the other couple will do the same, as it is the rule of the game.

While other couples prefer wants to end their party with fireworks, others prefer to give their guests a surprise through dancing. Why not give them a presentation they will never ever forget. You may dance to the beat of the music, it could be a hip hop dance, reggae or a salsa.
