What Is A True Christian?

By Eddy Bown

Christianity. It is the religion that follows not just God, but also Jesus Christ and his teachings. Most people would commonly associate it with Catholicism and other religions revolving around God, but it's not always the case. In many ways, Christianity is different. That's why you have to know how to understand Christianity so you won't be confused or baffled on what it is in the world of religion. As mentioned previously, Christianity is a religion in which it doesn't just believe in God, but also in Jesus Christ along with his writings and teachings. It is almost like Catholicism, but its main focus is Jesus Christ.

A true Christian follows and applies the principles of the Bible. The Bible has the laws of God written for man. A true Christian diligently applies the principles of God in his life. He doesn't just read the principles; he applies them where it is appropriate. To be a true Christian means you show what you have learned.

False prophets are known to be just like people. They're the regular type you see on the streets. But to distinguish a false prophet from others, you have to look at their personalities. False prophets don't usually follow the principles of God. They'd take bits of those principles and make their own doctrine. This is almost similar to how Antichrists function. False prophets use this supposed gift to have their own gains. They are not there for the people. They are just there to get whatever they want in the most deceptive manner. They'll fool even the most innocent for their personal gain.

Other religions have their own false prophets too like in Islam. A prophet is a false prophet if he comes after Muhammad because it has already been established Muhammad is the true and final prophet. In Judaism, someone is considered a false prophet if he makes too-good-to-be-true prophecies and turn you away from your faith with God and therefore must be punished to death for such rebellion.

The true Christian incorporates a Christian view in life. Whatever he does in life; be it a farmer, a salesman or a computer guy, he always puts everything in the perspective of a true Christian. These are the signs and marks of a true Christian. It may be hard to do for others, but with a diligence, perseverance and faith, even the most basic Christian can become a true Christian in no time.
