Tithing Helps Us To Grow Spiritually

By Michael Paul

The Old Testament is clear when it comes to tithing. It says to bring 10% of your wealth to the church. Christians today are battling on whether or not they should tithe. The truth of the matter is that money is where your heart is. You cannot possibly have a lot of faith in God if you do not tithe. I say this because you should be able to give God 100% of your wealth each week if you trust in him. God will provide for you. However, he only asks you for 10%. People that tithe say that their faith in God grows because of it.

Money is often hard to talk about for most people that don't have much of it. Tithing helps to keep your local church from going broke. Even though God has preachers, they need money to operate. God's people are responsible for funding the church and not having a heart that is full of greed for wanting something else. The gospel of Jesus Christ must be preached to every end of the earth before Jesus Christ returns. Christians that don't tithe are often said to lack faith that God will provide for you. Most people say that they cannot give 10% of their money to God each week. This is for a very good reason.

Giving 10% of your money to God is actually a commitment. It builds faith and character. When you tithe, a spiritual protection starts to go over you. You begin to see protection overflowing in your life. You may think that you are about to lose your job and then all of a sudden you get a raise. God can move upon the hearts of your employer and make them see a value in keeping you. It is important to always be honest with God. If you fear tithing, it is okay. Most people fear giving 10% of their money to the church each month. God will put you through a series of tests in order to see if you are willing to give your 10% even though you are under great financial pressure.

Satan is the deceiver of this world. His will is to make you think that God doesn't love you or care for your needs. He is the master of having your life turned upside down. Most people that have financial difficulties blame God and often say that he doesn't provide enough for them. However, this is not true. The Bible says that God knows our needs and provides for us at his own will. God gives to us what he believes we need. God always shows us that there is something that we are failing to see. The Lord always shows us that there are new beginnings happening on a weekly basis.

If you are experiencing extreme loss, you can actually ask yourself how life changes for you on a regular basis. Always think of yourself as being the kind of person that can change as faith changes. Life is always a new beginning for most people. Most people have the idea that their life moves forward because of what they are giving to their church. Tithing does work and it keeps your faith strong with God.
