The Truth About Clothing Donation PA

By Christopher Cooper

The first world countries are well known for the aid they give the third world countries, these include grants, loans and so on. They also donate house hold items and cloths which are given to the poor people in the developing countries whose people are not able enough to buy new clothes. This clothing donation PA also help poor people in the developed countries since not everyone can afford new clothes, people are different.

Agencies which collect these clothing are led by greed-driven people who instead of giving them to the less fortunate in the country they sell these cloths. African market is the most eyed source of income to these money lovers who sell them at a low cost but sell as much tones as possible hence bringing forth reputable profits. The reason behind this is because many Africans live a hand to mouth lifestyle hence cannot afford new shipped clothes which are costly.

Africa is popularly known by its good appetite for the less expensive commodities, second hand clothes being one of the commodities which are on high demand. Nearly everyone wears these kinds of clothing since some are of high quality though they are not new. Since everyone can afford this kind of clothing, they really sell more than hot cakes as rated.

The second hand clothes business brings more consequences to the country than it brings good tidings though income is earned by the government through revenue. Workers who depend on cash paid to them by their employer in the textile industries lose their job since the market is flooded by second hand clothes which compete with the new clothes hence the new clothes lack market. This causes a major blow to the economy which is geared by revenue and income from these industries.

Africa is a blessed continent rich in minerals and other farm products which are exported to the developed countries hence gaining income to the farmers and government. There are other valuable items that bring forth income despite the fact that they are not popular; they include garments made in Africa. In Kenya, there are Maasai- Shukas which brings up the bigger picture of the rich pastoralists culture and are exported abroad to earn income. When the market is dominated by these clothes the local ones loose market.

Workers who are directly employed by the textile industries either directly or indirectly end up having no job since the market for the local clothes is diminishing at a very fast rate. When the loss is incurred they end up being beggars and robbers. They become a security threat to the country since many cases occur of people getting robbed.

Charitable firms which like The Salvation Army put it in black and white that the clothes are sold to bring forth more income for good causes. The cash helps in transportation and paying workers who are involved in the process at large. This makes the firms have a stable income flow hence the rate of collapsing is low.

Third world countries governments should come up with measures of defending the local textile industries which employ people in large numbers. The measures include taxing the shipment of second hand clothes at a higher rate that will make their price more expensive than the local made clothes and less taxing of local clothes. With this, the economy will stabilize and a faster rate.
