Understanding Conversations About Things That Matter To God

By Jason Hayes

What should I do to please God? This is a challenging question that most believers are usually forced to seek answers for in their spiritual walks of life. This has led many to hold debates and conversations about things that matter to God. It may seem easy but on in depth analysis it can be a very interesting and educating topic.

Trust may seem as a very simple thing but according to God, it acts as the overall blanket even before one decides to make other major sacrifices. Alongside trust one should also be courageous and not be discouraged by challenges that comes your way. God reminds us He is our supreme father and the greatest above all.

Compassion; Jesus Christ lived a life which not only showed what we should do to please God but how selfless one should be when serving the needy in our society. By healing the lepers feeding those who had no one to turn to, it showed God values are acts of compassion much more than acts of personal sacrifice.

Humility pleases the eyes of God. According to the books of the bible, God encourages people not to be amused and over fascinated by the positions they hold or even the progress made in life. In the eyes of God we are all the same and God requires us to always remember this even when serving in senior positions.

Justice; God is pleased when people treat others fairly regardless of the situation. Jesus Christ showed this when he rebuked the tax collectors and told them to repent their sins as they were sinners in the eyes of the lord because of their deeds as they used their positions to oppress the poor. By one ensuring they are just, it will make them not only live according to Gods will but also end up making God happy as well.

It is important to always remember what God has done to you over the years and greatly show gratitude. By doing this, one is surely going to please God; this can be elaborated by Jesus being glad by the one leper who came back to give thanks after he performed healing of the ten lepers in the bible. We should emulate this and always be thankful to God.

Obedience is very important for one to do things according to the will of God. On countless occasions in the bible God has used obedience as a requirement for them to accomplish what God desired; a good example is when Moses was told to lead the Israelites to the Promised Land even when he did not know exactly how to do it.

The path to righteousness is not always easy. It takes a lot of sacrifice not only internally but also in the way one goes along their day to day activities. We are sure to benefit and live a more fulfilled life if we aim at doing things that are pleasing to God as this is what we were purposely created for.
