Volunteering To Those Peolpe Who Are Poor

By Brian Wright

Volunteering for those in need is a very noble thing to do especially if it is done for selfless reasons. Volunteering has gained a lot of fame in the recent past where so many people leave their jobs to go volunteer in developing countries especially. However, not all the needy countries accept volunteers because some volunteers exploit them. They put a lot of measures and prerequisites in order to accept these volunteers.

There are many and different reasons why people believe that volunteering is good and beneficial. Some of them are.

Some of the volunteers say that it is calling form God. Many of the religious groups have this as their system or even pillars of helping.

During the moth of fasting, the Muslims help a lot especially those who do not have food. They believe that the God would release blessings for them especially at the time they are fasting.

Hindus too have a very efficient way of helping the needy in the society where they almost share everything in the name of community. One cannot go hungry, lack school fees of medical care education or even love when in the community of Hindus. Some of these religious organizations also help to come up with the non governmental organizations that feed the children, give aid to the needy countries. Send volunteers to catastrophe stricken areas.

Some people do this for the sake of their own ego or satisfaction. Most of these people are those who are uber rich who give a lot of money to support charities which deal with helping the needy in the society. They do this in order to reach the self actualization as described by Maslow's hierarchy of needsMost of the people who entirely volunteer their resources to help the needy have either passed through a tough situation or have seen some one going through a tough experience. They volunteer in order to change the way things are and also aim at no on else suffering the way they did.

Some clubs also make it mandatory for members to engage in a form of volunteer work. This might be seen a s a way of doing corporate social responsibility.

Volunteering and giving to the needy in society should be encouraged from a very young age. This is because it has very valuable lessons for being selfless and not thinking about oneself only.
