The homeless and the street families are the best to donate to if the clothes you have are few. There are different organizations that deal with the process of collecting and distributing clothes. If the foundations do not directly give out the clothes to the less fortunate, then they sell them and use the funds for other donation activities. The clothes you wish to donate should not be shabby, torn, or mended. Many charitable organizations expect clothes that are still looking good.

Sort out the clothes you think you will still wear in the following few months or you could give to your friends or relatives. Ask your family members if they also have clothes they are not wearing and they are thinking of donating them. Confirm if you really want to donate your favorite shirt of your son or he might want to give it to his small brother. If your kids do not mind giving out their clothes, then look out for some other clothes that could fit them in one year or two.

Check the quality of the attires. Make sure that the buttons and the pockets of the clothes are in perfect state. If you are in a position to clean them, wash them, and keep them tidy. Also, donate other things like curtains, towels, bed-sheets, and pillowcases.

Prepare all your donations and put them inside a box. Seal it to keep them clean upon arriving at the foundation you choose. Make sure that you choose one that is near your heart. You can also ask a few people about the advocacies of it. See if they will use the clothes you gave them. If the outfit you have are for aged people, then choose an organization that is for the elderly.
