Reputable Charities Help Society In Many Ways

By Cynthia Green

Billions of people all over the world need help. On the other hand, there are only a few genuine charities. Thus, the world needs more reputable charities. Charity work is one of the greatest human virtues. According to the wise men of the past, it is better to give than to receive. There is no greater act on earth than the act of giving. The hand that gives will be blessed abundantly. Thus, it will never face lack for even a single day. Being always on the receiving end is not good. At times, one should be on the giving end.

A reputable charitable organization will help in many ways. It will deal head on with the issue of poverty. As a matter of fact, poverty is a cancer that is slowly eating away the conscience of the world. The ever widening gap between the rich and the poor is an issue of concern. Some people live in utter poverty.

A charity that has a poverty eradication program does a great service to society. Such an organization does not only give people the fish. Instead, it teaches people how to fish. That is the best way to break the vicious circle of poverty and end up lifting an individual or even an entire society from the jaws of dire poverty.

A good charity can be dealing with the issue of education. In the United States of America as well as in many European countries, there is free education from primary school to university. In addition, there are state of the art education facilities. That is not the case in most parts of Africa, the Middle East, and even Asia.

Some African and Asian countries have shocking levels of illiteracy. That is due to a broken down education system that is the result of many years of conflict and war. Charity work can help to rebuild such a system. It can help in the construction of modern schools and in the provision of high quality educational materials. Charity helps society.

There are charities that meet the most basic needs of underprivileged members of society. In America as well as other Western countries, most people have access to the most basic needs. These are food, water, shelter, and, clothing. Everyone deserves to have a roof over his head. Clothing is needed so that to cover human nakedness. Water is life.

In developing countries all over the world, millions of people usually go to bed hungry. It is also hard for these people to access clean drinking water. That leads to the spread of chronic water borne diseases and the death of many. Though the best charities, boreholes are being constructed in developing countries at a rate that has never been seen before. These provide clean water.

A caring heart is essential. It is what makes a person to be human. One should care for his family and friends. He should also care for neighbors and strangers. That is the sure way to make the world a better place. A caring person will not sit back and wonder at the level of suffering on earth. He will do something by contributing to charities.
