Valet Assistants And Their Duties

By Ronald Edwards

There is no easy career when it comes to hospitality field. This environment requires a lot energy from you as you are expected to be facing different sets of people every single day and make sure to add a little something special on how their vacations and trips are going on. And that is basically the same thing with West Bloomfield Valet as they are the ones who would be meeting the visitors first thing after they reached the destination.

Though, their top responsibility is with the retrieval of the vehicles that are owned nor rented by guests when they need it. With that, its easy for the guest to no longer go and take their time taking it out of the parking space and they can readily use it when needed as its right in front of them when they are about to use it.

And one of which is trying to make these people feel special and valued. Every hoteliers including valets know that these people are the reason why they have jobs and so they have to at least make it up to them by allowing them to have the best time of their lives in the place they are staying at as of the moment.

And mostly, guests that are new to visiting the hotel has some inquiries and questions, you are their immediate aide to that since you are the ones they would be seeing first. It could be as simple question on the directions and any other simple requests they will be asking you along the way.

Valets are expected to have the best knowledge as well especially with the hotel terms and information. As you know, guests may have some questions and inquiry and they have no time to actually make it to the front desk as they can be short in time or trying to make the best out of their time and stay so they would end up asking the valet instead.

The knowledge of valets is another necessary thing as they can be asked of random things by visitors such as the directions. With that, they can fully assist their customers when and if they can answer such inquiries politely and accurately. It sure will be appreciated by the guests without valets even realizing it.

Aside from securing the guest safety, they need to make the guests feel comfortable with valet driving them around. They should be friendly but not that friendly to start butting in conversations that has nothing to do with them or probably asking uncomfortable questions along the way as it can be inappropriate.

And apart from safety, driving skills is basically another skill that is required. You do not have to show the fastest driving speed but you should be able to narrow down the correct maneuvers so that they do not feel uncomfortable with sudden jolts and halts. Besides it prevents accidents from happening most of the time.

And mind you, such inconvenience would reflect on the performance of valets and they may have demerits out from that. They should at least have the audacity to be careful and gentle as much as possible. Being thoughtful is also a skill they should develop as the job would require much of that to keep the guests happy.
