By Simon Postit

For a traditional British wedding, London is a superb location full to the brim of staggeringly beautiful buildings and churches, quirky theatres and other entertainment venues, as well as contemporary arts spaces. Regardless of the amount of choice, securing a setting that will please the majority of your guests on your big day is a daunting task. Here are a couple of hot picks you may not have heard of, but are more than worthy of consideration.

Home House in Portman Square - For an outstanding central London location that will be the envy of your friends for years to come, you must have a look at this Georgian masterpiece. Despite being known as the best private members' club, not only in Europe but also Internationally, you don't actually have to be a member to host your wedding here. Behind unassuming doors, Home House comprises of three different, but equally luxurious, grand 18th century 'homes'. There are plenty of dreamy backdrops for an array of stunning photographs, a designated area for you to say your vows and a magnificent drawing room for your lavish wedding breakfast. With twenty en-suite classically furnished rooms, there is also plenty of space for your main guests to reside.

Our second private members' club to tickle your fancy is The Century Club in Shaftesbury Avenue. The exquisite venue showcases a memorable London skyline and offers a beautiful lantern-lit rooftop terrace to view it from just imagine the photographs! You can't stay the night at The Century Club, but then a change of scenery is never a bad thing and the stunning Dean Street Townhouse is only around the corner, within walking distance.

Aside from private members' clubs, we do have two other gems up our sleeves.

Chelsea Physic Garden is unusually lovely, housing over 5,000 species of plants from all over the world. The botanical garden is a superb place to host your special day, not only can you hire the grounds, there's also a special lawn and a number of events' rooms. The stunning, natural backdrop of the gardens provides for some memorable picnics and you'll honestly feel like you're a million miles away from the hustle and bustle of The Big Smoke.

Last, but by no means least, we have Morrell House of Shoreditch. The incredible venue was originally built in the 1800's, but also encompasses a little of medieval Britain with an old well in the grounds taking centre stage. Morrell House also offers something a little out of the ordinary for your special day 'Cock-Teas': you pick your favourite cocktail and the staff will replicate it for you and serve it up to your guests in ornate teacups, a great way to add a touch of novelty and uniqueness.
