3 Ways To End Your Sadness After A Breakup

By Karli Ralston

Has your breakup causes you to give up on life? Have your days lost their joy and are you simply existing instead of actually living life? You might say that you'll be happy again when your ex comes back to you but when will that be? Are you sure that they'll be back in a week or a month or a year? If your happiness is dependent upon your ex coming back to you then you have things a little backwards.

Your sadness and depressed state is probably hindering your ability to attract your ex back into your life. It's a sad fact but it is true that people simply are not attracted to people who are emotionally upset or in a depressed state. Such emotions drag people down. People tend to avoid those who are sad and instead they are attracted to people who are happy. Even though being sad and lonely at times can't be avoided, trying not to let this sadness control your life is important. If you truly wish to get back together with your ex, you need to make a conscious effort to be happy and take care of yourself. You need to be happy and start living life again.

If you want to improve your mood quickly, try some laughter therapy. Laughing can help you to feel better about life even if you are laughing about something external to you and your life. Funny movies or visiting a comedy club might be in order if you look in the mirror and have a difficult time smiling. If you just don't want to go out in public, which is common when you're depressed, rent a few good movies, curl up on the couch with some good comfort food and prepare yourself for a night of laughter. Search for some funny videos online and take your mind off of your troubles.

It's a commonly known fact that exercise can help improve your mood and ward off depression. When you exercise your body charges your blood with mood enhancing chemicals that make you feel good. Now, you don't have to become a fitness buff to benefit from exercise. Getting into the habit of going for a brisk walk every day or jogging at your local park is often enough for you to feel a change in your mood. The combination of doing something positive for yourself and getting out of the house is often enough to change your mood and make you feel like you're moving in the right direction in your life. The positive benefits to your physique and overall shape will also help you to feel better about yourself and also be more attractive to your ex when they see you again.

Making a conscious effort to improve your overall mood and your confidence is the cornerstone of pulling yourself out of this depression. Once you start doing things for yourself and taking care of yourself there is a snowball effect that takes place. Even if you have to force yourself to do some of these things at first, eventually you begin to feel better about yourself and your life. Reading some good books on psychology and relationships can help you to understand yourself and begin the healing process. Understanding that all of us, your ex included, have some emotional baggage and focusing on becoming strong and self-confident has a healing effect. Being gentle and kind to yourself is your first step towards emotional healing and feeling good about your life and your current situation. Things might seem pretty bad right now but things will change. You are a good person and you deserve to be loved. You're not a piece of garbage and the sooner you understand that, the sooner your ex will see that you're a good person also.

Getting back together with someone that you truly love can be a stressful ordeal. Most people spend months working against themselves before they finally snap out of it and start doing things that are productive. You can get back together with your ex more quickly by skipping this destructive period and throwing yourself headlong into doing things that are going to help you. You'll shorten the amount of time you spend alone by rebuilding yourself and your life into something that your ex will be proud to be a part of. Think about it and remember to be positive and optimistic about your ability to get back together with your ex.
