In some of the more remote areas of Haiti, a lot of lands are still poverty stricken and the people there are actually suffering because of it. Because of the really high rate of poverty in the area, an organization known as the Haiti Mission was created so that help could come to the aid of these people. Just for those who are interested in their projects, here are some of them.
In 1999, some members of a church in Louisiana known as the Saint Bridget Church of Schriever noticed this and decided to create the organization. As years passed by, Many other organizations in America as well as Haiti have collaborated with this organization. They would tie up with the Church Parish of Our Lady of Assumption in order to help the poor people of Jeremie, which is among the poorest lands in the entire country.
Since food is one of the most basic need of humans in general, what this organization does is that they bring farm animals from Leogane to this country. Since they have tie ups with farms in Leogane, they have no problem getting these animals. Before these animals would reach the destination, they would check to see if there are any diseases in the animals and would cure them.
Of course another project that they are doing would be their building of schools as education is definitely a must. They have also been the ones who have established all the facilities and equipment in the educational institutes. They also provided all the staff that will be needed inside the institute like the teachers, the nurses, the technicians, the maintenance people, and the janitors.
Housing for the people was also quite a problem for the people since a lot of them still lived in small straw huts. That is why houses made out of concrete were actually created with all the facilities and utilities that a home needs. Water and electricity were provided when all these houses were built.
Another thing that they would address would be the shortage of clothes for the children, shoes in particular. It is for this reason that the organization ships shoes from America in order to give to the poor people in this area who do not have proper shoes. When the shoes and other garments are delivered, they are then brought to the school for distribution.
Another thing that the organization does in order to inspire the people would be to encourage soccer. Since soccer is a passion in Jeremie, the organization made a soccer field just for the children to play in. They also donated a lot of soccer balls so that the children can have real games.
So by now, one can observe just how great of an impact the Haiti Mission Incorporated has created among the children of this area. Even though these are only just a few of the projects that this organization is working on, these projects already created such a big impact on the people. They are still helping the area of Jeremie up until today and their help definitely elevates the status of all the people there.
