Where Do We Go After Death

By Leslie Ball

Spiritualists and scientists have differed in their opinions on what usually happens to the soul after we die. When a person dies, the physical body stops to be in existence while the rest of his existence and consciousness continues. Death does not mean that life has come to an end but a departure for the spirit world which is our real home. Where do we go after death is hence a question that depends on ones beliefs and knowledge on the subject matter.

In the present day, people are more aware of things that happened in the early days compared to the people of the past. However, the people of the past were more knowledgeable of the issue of life following this occurrence. Most people do not like talking about the topic throughout their lives and it is not taught in learning institutions.

When the body stops to function and the connection between the soul and the body is non-existent, true death takes place. The sooner someone accepts that they are dead, the sooner they undergo the real death. Such a person roams around where they used to live before they died for approximately a week or so.

After dying, a spirit guide usually a person that was close to them comes to lead them to the spirit world via the river Styx that separates this world and the next. The guide will assume the form of a Buddhist monk, a Christian priest or an angel. The way this river appears is different based on the religion of that person and once it is crossed, there is no point of return.

Most souls are scared of leaving the earth and going to the spirit world and stay around for a while until their funeral is over. Another theory states that people pass through a dark tunnel that leads to heaven immediately they die. Some souls are stubborn and are reluctant to leave the earth; and this problem can be solved by exorcism.

For Christians, the Bible says very little about what happens to the soul between the last day when Christ comes back and after death. The bible only speaks on the resurrection on that last day and what happens later on. Christians also believe that at death, the soul does not leave the body; but both the body and the soul sleep until the day of Christ return.

Every person will meet their as it is an unavoidable part of life and scientists have researched and found some helpful information. One of them is that the body ceases to function but the brain still has its consciousness. This was tested in hospital where patients said that they knew what was going on around them when in a coma.

Some people know ahead of time when their time comes; terminal illnesses when early diagnosed will enable a person to set their issues in order and say goodbyes. In such cases, every victim is able to accept this situation peacefully and to gradually adjust to the situation. However, most people do not get this chance as their deaths are sudden.
