Dark Times & The Necessity Of Faith

By Evan Sanders

When things are looking pretty negative in life, it can be actually hard to see the light. Fear, doubt, depression, anxiety all creep in and the end result does not look to good. Regularly we are so frightened to even feel these feelings that we try and avoid them altogether, only finding that they come back time upon time. What is the way out? Is there a way out?

Through.

We must go through these things.

For most of us, we must grip onto our endless faith.

There really is a certain type of magic and grace in getting close to your thoughts - even the ones that hurt - without being consumed by them. For example, it is like making an attempt to put your hand by a hot pan to feel the heat but at the very same time trying to not burn yourself. These negative and painful feeligns and emotions, while they test our soul deeply, can become a source to our greatest healing however. They can take us places where we need to bring our love and teach us about what wants some attention. Give yourself the opportunity to truly experience these thoughts and emotions extraordinarily while not trying to run from them and change them and see quite how much you can learn. It is a challenging experiene to say the least, but it's an very advantageous experience in itself.

Can this experience be truly painful at times? Totally. But when we start to connect into the darker energies of life, we give ourselves the greatest opportunity to compassionately handle the stuff we may not have given much attention to in the past. These past events and unsightly feelings will come knocking at our door solidly, and we are able to continue to pretend as if they don't exist, or we can kindly allow them in and start the conversation that has always been required.

These times will test your faith...but isn't that the true point of having deep faith in the first place? Everyone needs to have something that we know we will be able to go to no matter any challenge that comes our way. So run to your faith when times get dark...you will always have a light.
