The Highlights About Feast Of Trumpets

This is one of the holidays that are celebrated by the Jews up to date. It is known as Rosh Hashanah loosely translated to first of the year. The day appears on the first day of the seventh month in the Jewish calendar. The Feast Of Trumpets is a very significant aspect of the Christians lives because it creates a picture of what happened and what is to come. The following are some of the facts of that special day.

The memorial of this feast is interconnected with the day that all the Israelites were called to assemble around Mount Sinai. They were to gather around the place once they heard the loud sound of trumpet. On that day the Israelites trembled as there was earthquake, thunder, lightning and smoke around the mountain as illustrated in Exodus 19: 16-19. It signifies that the Israelites accepted to enter into a covenant with the God and had chosen to hold the responsibilities given to them.

The commemoration of the day by Christians is an order from the God himself. In Leviticus 23: 1-25 the Israelites are commanded to leave everything and hold a celebration in memorial of remembering the day of blowing of the trumpets. There were some practices that were not allowed during the period and it was purposely to act as a reminder of the covenant.

The covenant that was established by Moses is fulfilled through the life of Jesus Christ. The mankind establishes a new covenant through Jesus Christ (Luke 22:20) and the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ makes it more significant. The partaking of the Holy Communion is a constant reminder of the blood of Jesus and his second coming. It reveals that there are greater things to come and that we should live as per the teaching of Christ.

The feast has a very significant meaning in the life of a Christian. It signifies that when Jesus will descend down, there will be blowing of the seven trumpets. The rapture will follow and the dead will be resurrected. Some verses that support this include the book of Matthew 24:31 and 1 Corinthians 15:52. It will be a day that Jesus will come to take the Christians and take over the Kingdoms of earth.

Most of these celebrations were hold in the wilderness as per the ancient traditions. The final celebrations were later to be held in the temple of Jerusalem. However the exact meaning of the feast is to remind Christians of the covenant and the future that is to come. It can therefore happen in any location even in the local churches.

This is a day that the God ordered all Christian to stop the normal activities and concentrate on him. It is an important feast for Christian to meditate on the greater things that are to come. The sounds of the trumpets show that God had a purpose for the day to be celebrated as it reveals on the second coming of Jesus Christ, the resurrection and the establishment of the kingdom of God.

The celebrations of this feast are a special occurrence in the life of Christian. It is through the day that Christians remember that they made a covenant with the God. They are also reminded of the death of Jesus Christ and the rapture of the Earth Kingdom. The Modern Christians should observe this feast as a reminder of the occurrences that are to take place.
