An Aspect Of Political And Catholic Views Conflict

By Della Monroe

A politician not long ago said the Pope hold no credibility where change in climate features. An argument is Catholic Church must leave science where it belongs, with scientists. These view holders have themselves failed to leave up to this stand. They cotton upon each phony scientist in rebutting human operations contribute immensely to change in climate. This another aspect regarding Catholic views.

Many a politician has asked the Church to do what they do best. This is morality and theology. Every time church and politics tangle, controversy often arises about scientific theories. An argument is that agriculture policy or such issues should remain outside main Church message scope. Church rebuttal often features a common message. This is that environment is also creation. It sets forth a moral reason that people should make a better job of caring for creation than achieved thus far.

Another argument talks about economic priorities concentrating on profit has overwhelmed moral necessities that cover taking good care of creation and the environment. In addition to this admonishment in regard to economic views is a demand that politicians keep to their own core vocation, the common good. Politicians should not take too much concern with matters that end up making obscene profits in mineral extraction industries.

There are five matters considered non-negotiable by Catholics. These are abortion, same sex marriage, euthanasia, human cloning, and stem cell research. These five matters are parallel to those forwarded by social conservative Republican Party. A telling issues here is that degradation of the environment, war and poverty do not feature. Another one commonly left out is systemic sin although an apostolic exhortation calls for its consideration and the Church has called for its adoption for a long time.

Another heavier snag with the mentioned five issues comes from a sense that all teachings of the Church should never be ignored. Jesus Christ revealed from which teachings flow be they about poverty or abject abortion. This being a multicultural society, negotiations must be entered into about which views held by Catholics go into policy and which should not. Pondering on the five only by a section of thinkers in politics creates wrong impressions about committing to environment degradation prevention and poverty eradication. Catholics have clear thoughts about moral obligations in environmental protection.

Republicans most often have opposite views to those Democrats take. Catholic GOP deny or downplay social aspects in teachings. Democrats complicate matter between private issues and personal issues. They further assert governments should leave private issues alone. Abortion may constitute a personal affair but not one private. Enforcing this constitutes game rigging. Should an issue affect and concern two people, it remains private no longer.

Furthermore, certain laws stop individuals from carrying out certain activities on their bodies. It is illegal to take illicit drugs. Drinking legal alcoholic drinks prior to driving is illegal too. As such, confusion is lamentable as it is common with both Democratic Catholics and Republic Catholics revealing this.

It makes for bizarre observation and noteworthiness that various political groupings diverge from Church teachings in precisely similar ways. This is through acquiring libertarian exemptions. Women taking pro-choice stands ask their bodies to be left alone. Republicans taking pro-business stances ask everyone to keep away from their corporations.
