An Overview On The Catholic Issues

By Della Monroe

Over 2,000 years ago, the Catholic Church was founded by some ardent believers and was hugely accepted by the pioneers. It had stringent rules that all members had to follow in order to be considered a faithful. With advancement in technology and the general acceptance of new trends, the church is continuously becoming irrelevant. Sexuality is one of the catholic issues that the church has abjured all appeals from the general public to embrace.

The Catholic Church has the highest number of faithful in the world according to statistics since its inception over 2,000 years ago. It has established itself as a voice in society that many look to when seeking guidance on important issues. Even governments have in the past resorted to wooing voters through the church.

Even though the church keeps on insisting that the act of celibacy was begun by Christ, several scholars have come forward with substantiated facts to prove that Christ did not do such a thing. This is a challenge the church is constantly battling and is yet to win. Surveys conducted in many catholic churches showed that members had no problem with priests having families and that this was the only way, cases of homosexuality could be eliminated.

Catholics in the developed world are the ones who have become very vocal in criticizing the doctrines of the global church. They have no problem with the church ordaining female priests to supplement the dwindling numbers of their male counterparts. Females too have attended the bible schools to hone their skills in message delivery hence should be given the opportunity to showcase their ability.

Priests and fathers are people who opine on issues that affect their flocks so that they encourage them in any way possible even when all hope is lost. When the holy house demands of them to abstain, many knowledgeable citizens believe they are not in a potion to talk on such important issues. One can only offer advice on a topic they are well versed with.

Abortion has been disallowed by many governments for years until recently when some thought certain cases called for a woman to terminate the pregnancy. Instances where the mother is in danger of losing her life, abortion becomes mandatory so that she has the chance of surviving and maybe having other children someday. The church has however refused to see the logic in this and continues to campaign against it.

There are some policies the church has put in place that many believe should be erased and forgotten. Unfortunately, these cries have been paid no attention by the officials and the pope himself. Scandals continue to rock the church from all corners but nothing has been done to avoid them.

The church does not condone sex before marriage and any person who engages in these acts with a loved one is promised vengeance from the good lord. Some believers say that showing emotional affection for someone truly loved should not be seen as a sin especially if done with the consent of concerned parties. Though the church does not accept the act, many of its priests are engaging in it.
